Kathi SHoemake, PE
Principal Engineer
Kathi brings 20 years of HVAC and Plumbing design experience. She has designed HVAC and Plumbing systems for restaurants, business and medical offices, correctional facilities, schools, casinos, breweries, mixed-use buildings and apartments from Bellingham to Tacoma. Her experience in the building construction industry extends into commissioning projects, building envelope analysis and energy modeling.
Kathi has been involved in the design of many early VRF systems around Seattle. She has contributed to neighborhood growth around her, designing HVAC and plumbing for apartments in the Seattle core. Kathi flexes familiarity with a wealth of HVAC systems from ground source heat pumps, steam heating, air-sourced heat pump chillers, VRF and VAV.

I joined HVAC Double Check to have the opportunity to be a leader. I look forward to managing my own projects. I also look forward to working on local tenant improvements that support our small business industry. I am expecting some challenging projects of size with energy and cost efficiency foremost in design.
I hope to complement Tricia's strengths of ingenuity and flexibility with my consulting experience and outgoing personality. I'm going to bring my energy efficiency and water conservation knowledge to all our designs. I'm ready to work on industrial, retail/restaurant and medical offices again!

Design of LYFE Kitchens flagship store and various enterprise locations. Kitchen designed for no grease cooking. Coordination of grease interceptor requirements and variances when allowed. Many locations seeking and granted LEED Gold Certification.
SUR LA TABLE
Design of Sur La Table retail stores with cooking classrooms. Locations included central steam, smoke and fire sprinkler system coordination. Most locations pursued LEED Gold Certification.

Designed HVAC for new cheesecake manufacturing plant and chilled water system for cheesecake processing line and building cooling needs.
INTERCITY TRANSIT BUS MAINTENANCE FACILITY EXPANSION
Provided plumbing design on this project for a maintenance facility expansion. Design included extending and expanding diesel and used fuel systems. Coordinating and designing pipe systems for shop air.

ELI PARK COMFORT STATION
Design plumbing and fan and heat system for non-gendered comfort station redesign.
BENTON COUNTY COURTHOUSE
As a senior mechanical engineer, guided and collaborated with other engineers on designing the HVAC and plumbing systems for a new 25,000 sf courthouse. The project focused on flexibility and cost efficiency to serve the needs of a courthouse, DA Office with plans to expand for future County services.
